Years 5–6: Introduction

The Australian Curriculum: Geography (and its various HASS–based iterations) has themes for each stage of schooling.

The Year 5 theme is 'Factors that shape the human and environmental characteristics of places' which expands students' understanding about how environmental and human processes affect the characteristics of places both locally and around the world.

The Year 6 theme is 'A diverse and connected world' which expands students' understanding about similarities, differences and interconnections of peoples and cultures across the world.
